Small-ish place; it does seem steadily full so if you have more than 3-4 in your party, you better call ahead. Totally nondescript from the outside, and inside, totally forgettable decore. The food is what makes this place --forget the ambiance. The servers they barely speak English, so better to confirm your order by pointing out the picture or the number on your menu. Also, they don't really understand the order when the food should be served. We ordered the egg rolls "as an appetizer". I said, but it came after our main dishes. Second trip there, we planned better and ww ordered ordered the spring rolls as appetizer snd then ordering xhilfrpi wbar zim Despite this, the food is really good. We had the filet (comes smothered in onions and garlic cloves; my daughter had the pho chicken--which was amazingly good , hearty fare, and the. Hi Ken. Ones on the bone (which my kids were hated The broth is the best brought I've seen anywhere. Perfectly seasoned and the most favorable broth I've ever had. Then the chicken--not for many Americans- is still on the bone, but I definitely don't mind that. And it comes with chopped chinese broccoli and other veggies in the Pho. She loved it. And mi loved my steak - so tender and delicious . The egg rolls were excellent too. All in all, a delightful mean. I will definitely be back for more!
3.75 on Bun Rue broth good/if shrimp slightly bigger, slightly little more in the bowl, flavor good. Vermicelli with shrimp egg roll and beef. Beef tasty, slightly more would be great, egg roll quality enough. Soft-shelled crab with mayonnaise sauce and pickled veggies EXCELLENT! Fried with fresh oil. Thai Tea --$5 above average, more quantity/bigger cup would be better. Jenny attentive and sweet! Nice smiles. Ordered Flan $5 to go. Bill was like $62... Ambiance Casual/culturally similar to other Vietnamese restaurants. Would go back again. And try the Pho
Was craving some steak on a hot plate, Khoi Hung delivers with its sizzling filet mignon! Get the garlic butter and ask for extra garlic along with the red rice. The meal comes with a side salad and dipping sauce for the steak. When the server brings out the plate, you can smell the delicious grilled garlic along with onions caramelizing. Service was fast and quick, no bill just straight get your food and eat in peace. There's other items on the menu if you aren't craving meat. Parking can be a pain as it's a small share business center.
Delicious... you know it's good because this place is filled with the older white haired Vietnamese crowd. Get the ribeye steak (pictured) or lamb chops the amount of garlic they slather on that is mouth watering especially with the steak sauce it comes with. It's what I wanted Denny's to be... but it's Vietnamese. Banh canh is also pretty good I liked the shrimp ball paste it came with, a nice change from the whole shrimp I'm use to it was flavored nicely. Surprisingly the side salad was amazing with the vinaigrette. Banh mi is super flakey and soft. I would only ask for some pate added to the menu like bo ne. They do however do eggs separately which is nice I guess menu felt like a build your own skillet instead of it being all together. The hot jasmine tea may be a packet but it's so fragrant and delicious... My only complaint is they charged water o.O. I'll return regardless this spot is yum yum yummy
We ordered the filet mignon and the fried chicken with sticky rice! The filet mignon came with French bread and we ripped pieces of the bread and put the meat dipped with the sauce (not pictured) on top. Omg guys the sauce was soooooo good. I loved the dipping sauce so much, I even paired it with the fried chicken and fried sticky rice! I definitely will come back here again just for that sauce The ladies are also nice and service is good! The restaurant feels super homey and casual. Love the cozy decor and layout of the place. It's never busy when i go so it's quite peaceful to have a meal with friends or family here! filet mignon: 11/10 chicken: 8/10
Discovered this place after reading about it in the LA times and decided to try it out. It's located in a small strip mall, that's somewhat tight on parking so be prepared! The inside feels like your typical mom and pop Vietnamese restaurant. I heard about their shaken beef and decided to give it a try. The service was quick and the food came out hot. The shaken beef was delicious! It had a nice buttery-garlic flavor and the meat was really tender. It came with a side of red rice too. Portion size was fair, I probably would've liked a little more. I would definitely come back again and try their other dishes. Quick note, they do change .50 cents for water which I thought was a little interesting.
This place is so good!! Parking can be a pain with tight spaces but we were able to find a spot within ~5 min. Got the bo luc lac, filet mignon on a sizzling late and fried calamari. Filet mignon with the garlic sauce is chefs kiss we inhaled everything and left no crumbs
Wow, we came for the xoi ga chien gion and it did not disappoint! The dipping sauce was so unique and addicting. Chicken was boneless and extra crispy. The xoi was coconutty and shaped like hashbrowns. I was in crispy chewy heaven! The owner said steak is their specialty, so we have to come back to try that next time. :)
Mother's Day dinner and I got to decide what I wanted. Bún tôm thịt nướng chả giò is my go to, which is grilled pork and egg rolls over vermicelli and assorted veggies (pickled shredded carrots, lettuce, mint, cucumber, bean sprouts) topped with fish sauce and coarsely ground peanuts. $1 charge for credit card. Parking was pretty easy but I can see it being frustrating on busier days/times. Staff were friendly and appreciative. Would come back. The food was good based on this go to of mine. I like the egg roll wrap over the spring roll wrap that's traditionally used for Vietnamese egg rolls.
